In this post we learn some words and expressions we use when we want to talk about weather. Let’s start with a conversation
Level : Intermediate
Hey what’s your favorite season ?
I’m in love with winter. I mean I am crazy about snow and skiing and mountains and everything.
Wow, you’re really into winter, huh ? Do you actually go skiing ?
You bet I do. I mean I try to be safe, so I always check this app I’ve got on my cellphone which is all about weather. You know sometimes skiers are warned about a possible avalanche.
Oh that can be dangerous and you are really brave. I mean I’m totally afraid of snow and storm and everything related to that season.
Oh , I totally get you! Once I was travelling and the airplane couldn’t land because of the blizzard!
Oh my Gosh! That would be scary! Hey look outside the window. Look at those flurries! It’s snowing!
avalanche /ˈavəlɑːnʃ/ : a mass of snow, ice, and rocks falling rapidly down a mountainside
blizzard /ˈblɪzəd/ : a severe snowstorm with high winds
Flurry /ˈflʌri/ : a small swirling mass of something, especially snow , moved by sudden gusts of wind
Now it’s time to listen to the conversation :
عالی بود خیلی کامل و مفید مخصوصا که بخش audioهم داره.
عالی
به نظرم این مکالمه خیلی خوب بود. منظورم اینه که طولانی تر بود بقیه مکالماتی که زحمت کشیدیدو آماده کردید که خیلی هم به درد بخور هستند اما من احساس می کنم خیلی کوتاه هستند.
What is “you bet I do ” mean?
used to emphasize that you agree with someone or are keen to do what they suggest
